A to Z of my Name

Just the other day, dad was discussing with mummy over my name. Apparently a nurse jie jie who goes by a nice name of Wen Xin told mum that a few bbs who go by the name jovial, jovin or something close, are all having similar birth defects.

Also my xiao yi po(4th great aunt) was asking whether was it something wrong with my name and would it be feasible to find a master to re-pick my name.

Dad was not keen on the idea as any change would be soooo characteristically un-Jovial leh. *Faintz....Imagine:

Aovial Ioival Rovial Zovial
Bovial Koival Sovial
Covial Lovial Tovial
Dovial Movial Uovial
Eovial Novial Vovial
Fovial Oovial Wovial
Govial Povial Xovial
Hovial Qovial Yovial

Dad simply cant accept other English names also as there's a reason behind naming me as who i am - Jovial.

In the beginning (god knows only how many months i was in my mummy's womb), there's this debate going on whether will I get any English name. Dad wanted me just having a chinese name but mummy was inclined on the other. In the end dad relented so potential names started popping up for mummy to choose. Names such as Alonso, Luis, Agger, Jamie, which mummy do not like....y? Cos they are all names of players from dad's favourite football club - Liverpool.
Mummy bought books on english names but simply cant decide on one for me.

Then one day dad adopted this english word to be my name, which he hope will reflect how i will be for the whole of my life.

And this is how my name - Jovial - came about.
